IMPORTATION OF FRONT AND BACK CLIPS

Front Clip:- is the section forward of the front windscreen including the right and left chassis legs, bonnet, grills, etc. not including the front fire wall.

Front clips must  have Chassis Numbers.


Back Clip:- is the back section of the vehicle that is rear of the rear windscreen.

Individuals will be granted a permit to import front and back clips for ' repair purposes only '. Applicant is required to submit an application with the following supporting documents:

  • Proof of ownership for the motor vehicle (e.g. Certification of title and vehicle registration document)
  • Report from Insurance Company
  • Police Report if the vehicle was involved in an  accident
  • Photographs of the damaged vehicle
  • Report from the Island Traffic Authority (application is referred by the Trade Board)
For permits issued to individuals for the importation of front/back clip the following restrictive clause will apply: ' FOR IMPORTATION OF (year & name of vehicle) FRONT CLIP (NOT HALF OF VEHICLE) ONLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF REPAIRING EXISTING VEHICLE' .

Companies will also be permitted to import front clips to be used for repairs only. Permits will be clause ' FOR IMPORTATION OF FRONT CLIPS (NOT HALF OF VEHICLE) AS DETAILED ON IMPORT LICENSE '.
