Based on the amendment, dated October 2, 2019, to Section 6.0 “Age of Vehicle at Importation” of the Motor Vehicle Import Policy (Ministry Paper # 36/14), the Jamaica Trade Board Limited wishes to advise that it will continue to accept import permit applications for vehicles with the model years listed in column four (4) below until January 31, 2026.All approved permits will have an expiry date of March 31, 2026, which must be duty paid and cleared from the wharf on or before March 31, 2026. Please note that the following condition must be met:
- Invoices for these vehicles must be dated on or before December 31, 2025.
In light of the extension being granted no requests for extensions of permits after March 31, 2026,to facilitate shipment or clearance of motor vehicles will be granted.
NB: Please note that motor vehicles under special import licence must notbe of a model year older than 2016. |
