The Jamaica Trade Board Limiteds Handover of Hurricane Relief Supplies to The Salvation Army

Kingston, Jamaica- The Jamaica Trade Board Limited (JTBL) today showed its strong commitment to compassion and national unity by handing over a donation of hurricane relief supplies to The Salvation Army. The ceremony, held at The Salvation Army’s Caribbean Territorial Headquarters, 3A Waterloo Road, Kingston, at 1:30 p.m., highlighted JTBL’s ongoing support for Jamaicans whose lives were affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Trade Administrator and CEO of JTBL, Dr. (Maj. Ret’d) Hugh Blake, shared his gratitude and reflections: “Hurricane Melissa left a trail of devastation, especially in the western section of the island. Over the past several months, JTBL has worked to bring comfort, hope, and practical support to those in need. I am deeply thankful to our JTBL family, whose generosity made it possible to provide food, clothing, and other essential items to The Salvation Army for wider distribution. This act of giving reflects the love and care that unite us as a people, and I encourage everyone to remain focused on helping victims rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.”

This donation is part of JTBL’s wider hurricane relief initiative, which has already included the distribution of more than 300 care packages and collaboration with its parent ministry, the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce (MIIC), to conduct post-hurricane assessments of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across western Jamaica.
As recovery efforts continue, JTBL remains dedicated to strengthening community resilience, fostering national unity, and advancing Jamaica’s development through service and compassion.
